A little bit about colour

Since I’m an artist and a designer, colours are a huge part of my life. This doesn’t just concern my creations, but also translates into what I like to wear and what colours I feel comfortable in. Colour temperature One colour does not truly exist without another. Even when the other one is just it’s darker or lighter shade, it really stands out when it has company. Also, some colours are generally considered cool and the other warm, but you can really only tell which one is warmer or cooler relatively by comparison. That’s why I’m going to write about …

Biubiu tops review – “Haarlem” and “Oviedo”

Biubiu is a Polish company that produces bust-friendly tops and dresses, made for different boob sizes within one waist size. The sizes are described as your regular European sizing (from 36 to 48) plus letters B, BB or BBB that stand for bust size. Biubiu plain jersey tops are my all time favourites. They go with everything, are made of good quality fabric, are comfortable to wear and are boob-friendly. Biubiu releases several styles every season and I try to get a hold of a few pieces every time, which is somewhat tricky – my size sells very quickly. I got …

Jackpot!

Today I’m going to tell you a tale about my most favourite clothing item – a jacket. Jackets are bliss. They accompany us in fancy jobs, protect from morning/evening chills, hide “love handles” and bring jeans & tee outfit to a whole new level of chic. I’ve worn jackets and blazers ever since I was a teenager, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when I noticed that they were “in” now and one can buy a jacket in any shop now, from Penneys (AKA Primark) to designer brands. Alas, quantity will never do for quality. Wearing jackets is …

Panache Jasmine Bra Review

I’ve got a little bit of a love/hate relationship with Panache bras, and I’ve known and wore them for at least five years. Last time I bought Panache bra was two years ago, I believe. I was hoping they would improve the construction to increase the comfort of wearing since then, but unfortunately Jasmine has the same issues as Tango II and other older Panache styles. Various colour versions of this bra are available on Figleaves and Bravissimo. I tried this bra on before, so I knew that 36HH size would be a perfect fit.  Support & Uplift– 4.5/5 Decent support, minimal …

Longline tops. Truly yours.

Ever since that evil of a woman Ula recommended me Yours Clothing, my wardrobe has sufferred from space deprivation. This huge plus size fashion retailer deserves attention for many reasons, but mainly for its wide selection of tunics and longline tops, probably the biggest ever known to the curvy part of mankind. I tend to avoid their dresses and blouses/shirts, because they are usually made for taller ladies, but tops and tunics are definitely worth checking out! My most recent wardrobe additions (AKA Wonder Hangers Nemesis): White flag print t-shirt with dipped back – size 20 I bought this top mostly because …

Biubiu “Gomera” bust friendly dresses review

News flash: some women are different than some other women! *gasp* And since women differ between each other in terms of body shape, they may require different amount of boob space in their clothes. Biubiu is one of these very few brands that design clothing for various bust sizes within one waist size, so that if you are a busty lady, you don’t have to wear shapeless stuff to accommodate your voluptuous breasts anymore. Being from Poland, I’m lucky to have known Biubiu almost from the beginning. I particularly love them for their plain jersey tops that go with absolutely everything and …

Amari skirts and top review

As we mentioned in our post about Amari dresses, we did not stop there with our mad shopping spree. The truth is, there are plenty of pretty dresses out there, but surprisingly, selection of skirts in both online and offline shops is rather poor. Amari seems to have more to offer than just plain pencil skirts, hideous black maxis and denim gaps, so we decided to give it a shot. Chocolate Daisy Skirt – size 5 What really seduced me here were the colours – not only I love chocolate brown (and the feeling is mutual, dare I say), but also …

Amari bust-friendly dresses review

There are several brands that make bust-friendly clothing in a way that they create two or three bust sizes within one waist size (we will write about them later). There are however other brands that just make “regular” bust-friendly clothing in a way that it’s just able to accommodate big bust because of the generous cut and stretch fabric. We’ve recently discovered that Amari is definitely one of them. They not only do that, but they create several styles, matching different body shapes, within one fabric pattern. And the patterns are so beautiful, that we want to buy almost all …

Curvy Kate “Daily Boost” bra review

I  needed a nude bra for all those light-coloured t-shirts and blouses that I usually didn’t buy when offered a choice, because I only had dark bras. I tried it on in a brilliant lingerie shop in Wroclaw, Poland (I’ll write about them another time), so I pretty much knew the 36HH size would be right for me. My measurments are more or less 95cm (37″) under the bust and 120cm (47″) in the bust (it’s approximate because I can never measure myself properly without the measuring tape sliding down somewhere). Curvy Kate is a Brastop brand and this is where …

The importance of a well fitted bra

I can’t emphasize enough, how important it is to wear a well fitted bra for our comfort, looks and well being. Did you know that very low percentage of women actually wear the right sized bra? Somewhere between 5 and 10% I believe; it changes all the time. Most common bra problems The most common problem is a cup that’s too small and band that’s too loose. There are many reasons for this, usually it’s the lack of knowledge of the lingerie store personnel (most of us has this particular experience where a salesperson tried to squeeze us in a …
